Yayoi Kusama in Seoul

I always wanted to see Yayoi Kusama's work. Today, finally, I did. The exhibition was held at Seoul Arts Center and it was enormous. Kusama's works were divided into 1st, 2nd, 3rd floor. I think I spent almost 3 hours.

1. Bought a coffee. Started to drink it real fast because obviously drinks are not allowed.

- 1st Floor -

1. Goin' in.

2. First, as soon as I walked in, I could see many many red dot balloons. this is one of the many balloons, which is special because you can see this(mirrors and more balls) through the peep hole.

3. Also, one more special balloon. It is actually quite small space. Just a mirror effect.

4. "With all my love for tulips, I pray forever"

5. "Ladder To Heaven" : One of my faves. Mirrors up and down. Infinity...

6. "Narcissus Garden" : total 1500 mirrored balls. You can see the reflection of yourself. Yayoi got kicked out in Italy when she just set these on the street and sold these balls to the people without the permission.

- 2nd Floor -

1. When Yayoi Kusama worked with Louis Vuitton, she was inspired from this work, which was inspired by..... you guess.

2. Dogs... : She named these cuties after the Japanese idol group "Arashi".

3. Of course you know she loves pumpkins.

- 3rd Floor - (which was a highlight for me)

 1. Welcome to my room, bitches ; I know, I know. You cannot touch the art. Sorry, I had to.

2. Cute table. Loved that they actually put some Korean snacks...

3. I got scold by staff when I sat on this bed. Don't blame me. Looked so damn cozy...

4. Lookin' all excited.

5. Yayoi, being Yayoi.

6. Penis-covered rowing boat...

7. "Obliteration Room" : first, take your shoes off, get some stickers, put stickers in that room wherever you want. LOVED IT. It was just a white room at first.

8. Me, bringing my inner Yayoi in Obliteration Room.

9. Third highlight ; "Infinity Mirrored Room", there was water on the floor except the place you are supposed to step on. But you can totally step on the water. Only 4 people can go in at the same time...

10. Souvenir Time ; Eco bags, postcards, mugs, notes, files, frames.

11. I'M HOME ; and I got these. I picked my fave piece when I picked the postcard. Loved the meaning of the painting. You can see they never make an eye contact...

My Secret Mission

I went to Hongdae(shorten for Hongik University area) Today. Taking picture of stranger's bag was my secret mission for school project, so I went there alone to complete my quick mission after work. Talked to quite many strangers today, which is my biggest fear.

As soon as I got there, I was too sleepy, almost fell asleep, walking on the street. (NO KIDDING). On my way to get some coffee, two chinese girls asked me with not-that-good English, where they can fine "3CE Make-up store." And I was like.. "I'm sorry, what?" But in a minute, I found out they were looking for Stylenanda Flagship Store, which I've never been to and failed once to find the direction of the store. They seemed pretty desperate, So I decided to use my beloved(from myself) GPS map. And I said "Oh, I found it. You should go to that way, Go straight.. and then...." and They were like "........." And I was like, "You know what, LET ME TAKE YOU GUYS THERE."
Funny, because after I took them to the Stylenanda store, I got lost. But one good thing is I found the random cafe that sells huge take-out coffee for less than $3. Yay! And then, of course, I turned on my GPS map again, got outta there.

Coffee so huge, I couldn't even finish it until I was in the station, waiting for the train to get home.

I am pretty sure, they asked me where they can fine the store because I was wearing Ruby Woo...

TODAY'S TUNE : SWEETBOX - LIFE IS COOL. Ahhhh, memories...

May Mai Maybe

Every time when the name of the month changes, I act like it is no biggie outside, but I think it is a quite big deal on the inside. It's just different. Feels new. Feels like refreshed. Feels like now I can forget about my crappy last month and move on and prepare for another crappy month. JK. I feel like this month would be amazing. Maybe, It won't be crappy at all.

1. 가로수길, Garosu-Street. I was waiting for a friend of mine.

2. THAI FOOD TIME! Tom Yang Goong Noodle was new thing to me. It was... well.. NEW. I have never experienced that kinda of taste before. I'd say It was very interesting. I should try again next time... They serve coffee also... I love Vietnam coffee...

3. Currently reading this book, Night Train To Lisbon. I know, I already mentioned it. But I had to finish Harry Bosch book first and then i came back to this book... This is my subway ride book now. This book is too deep. I think I am the most serious person with my head down on the book in the subway... Almost cried, seriously. "Imagination trims them to suit our own wishes and hopes, but also to confirm our own fears and prejudices."  Every quotes of this book is amazing.

4. Today's Tune ; Kid Cudi!!!
