Busan Diaries, Day 1

I did not really realize it has been a quite a long time since I wrote my last diary. I've been not really that busy so that I couldn't update this blog. I guess, to be honest, I was just lazy. Recently though, I wanted to write some on the blog, cause I need to share some goodie goodie pictures. So here we go.

My friend and I decided to make a quick trip to Busan, where is far down south of South Korea, takes about 2 hours and a half from Seoul. I just needed to get away from Seoul this Summer and also I wanted to eat all those food that you can only taste in Busan. So I made my mind to call my work that I am "sick" while I will be already in Busan(since there was no vacation for me, i know, crazy.) and just got on the KTX(express train) on Sunday morning.

This trip was for mostly food and relaxing. So I had my checklist for food.

  • 돼지국밥(Pork Soup with Rice)
  • 씨앗호떡(it's like fried pancake or doughnut with honey stuffed with seeds)
  • 비빔당면(it's kind of noodle with spicy sauce. street food)
  • 냉채족발(meat from Pig's feet with some mustard sauce + jelly fish)
  • 밀면(similar with Naeng-myon probably.. but with different kind of noodle)
  • 회, SASHIMI

1. In KTX

It was my very first KTX experience. I imagined more like amusement park roller coast kind of fast express train. But I was wrong. But It still was fast because It was already Daegu after I woke up from quick 30-minute-sleep.

2. Busan Station

EEEEEEEverybody was taking pictures at Busan Station. So I also did.

3. Pork Soup with Rice

As soon as I had gotten off the train, I walked a little bit to have Pork Soup with Rice which is known as 'must-eat food' in Busan. It was delicious. But I guess It tasted better when I had first visited Busan 2 years ago. Anyway, Pork Soup with Rice, check.

4. Cafe time.

found the pretty cafe in narrow complicated street in Nampodong. So vintage.

5. BIFF

BIFF(Busan International Film Festival) Street or Plaza(dunno) is where you can have all those street food. HEAVEN. Waiting Line for this Seed Hottuck is crazy but worth the wait. Ahhhhh I miss Busan.

Finally my turn...

So here it is, Hottuck with seeds, check!

비빔당면, check.

6. Bosudong, where there are endless used/old book stores.

 7. Haeundae

I stayed at Guest house. It was only 5 minutes from Haeundae station. And also it was near at the traditional market, where you can eat almost errrrrythang.

View of the traditional market. Time for me to search the restaurant for 냉채족발.

Found it.

This was the best dish I've ever had in Busan. I am so going Busan back for this. No kidding.

8. Bakery, 'OPS'.

9. Sashimi time.

In order to eat Sashimi and Soju, watching the great night view of Gwangan Bridge, we headed to the park. So in the middle of the night around 10pm we got on the bus, and came back at 4 in the morning. It was all rainy and windy but did not really care.

The place you get to pick your own fish that you wanna have and they make those fish to sashimi right away. I was like 'Sorry, fish. But you are yummy.' But It was kind of a shock when the lady throws left over sashimi to other fish, and they are like eating it. THAT was something.

and...... the bridge....
